About Alex Kane
Alex Kane is a Software Developer who comes from a financial background and is currently consulting in New York and Tokyo. Alex entered the financial industry in 1999 with Broadway Trading as a System Administrator and Network Engineer where he designed and implemented systems such as remote access services that allowed the business to expand.
After merging with Schonfeld Securities in 2002 Alex leveraged his Web Development skills to secure a position as Lead Web Developer at Schonfeld. Over the next 4 years he built Schonfeld's internal web infrastructure from the ground up, creating internal web services and risk management tools that would be deployed across Schonfeld's entire organization and affiliates.
In June 2006 Alex left Schonfeld to found LanguageTunnel.com, a dual-language site that lets Japanese people learn English online. After establishing partnerships in Shizuoka and Tokyo the website is now successfully Beta testing. In addition to Language Tunnel, Alex continues to consult on exciting projects where he feels he can bring fresh ideas and technologies to the table.
